FOUNDER

Sungwon Kim is a translator, producer, and research consultant. Born in Seoul and raised in Tokyo, he later studied in London. He works in Japanese, Korean, and English. With a 15-year career in the advertising and media industries, he expands his field of helping corporate new business development across sectors, while pursuing his personal passion for independent translation projects. All his work centers on his core research, “Cultural Translation.” He has worked with various organizations and creators, including Mitsubishi Corporation, Financial Times, Google News Initiative, Dentsu, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Honda, frog design, Yamaha, and the Ayrton Senna Institute. His translation work includes Make Time for Creativity (by Brandon Stosuy) and the co-translation of A Seventh Man (by John Berger). He has also handled the Japanese distribution for the films The Seasons in Quincy: Four Portraits of John Berger and My Father’s Shadow (2027).

1985年ソウル生まれ。慶應義塾大学総合政策学部卒業後、2007年電通入社。国内外大手企業の広告制作と新規事業開発に従事。2019年ロンドン大学ゴールドスミスで文化起業論、2020年に奨学生としてブリストル大学で移動・移民学のふたつの修士号を取得。英フィナンシャル・タイムズ勤務を経て、東京で会社員として働く傍ら、日韓英の異文化翻訳活動を展開している。

1985년 서울 출생. 게이오대학교 종합정책학부 졸업 후, 2007년 덴츠 입사. 국내외 대기업의 광고 제작과 신규 사업 개발을 담당. 2019년 골드스미스 런던대학교에서 문화기업학 석사, 2020년 브리스톨대학교에서 장학생으로 이민·이주학 석사 학위를 취득. 영국 Financial Times 근무를 거쳐, 2021년부터 도쿄를 중심으로 한/영/일 문화 번역 활동을 진행하고 있음.
